Amplitude Equations for Electrostatic Waves: multiple species
نویسندگان
چکیده
The amplitude equation for an unstable electrostatic wave is analyzed using an expansion in the mode amplitude A(t). In the limit of weak instability, i.e. γ → 0+ where γ is the linear growth rate, the nonlinear coefficients are singular and their singularities predict the dependence of A(t) on γ. Generically the scaling |A(t)| = γ5/2r(γt) as γ → 0+ is required to cancel the coefficient singularities to all orders. This result predicts the electric field scaling |Ek| ∼ γ 5/2 will hold universally for these instabilities (including beam-plasma and two-stream configurations) throughout the dynamical evolution and in the time-asymptotic state. In exceptional cases, such as infinitely massive ions, the coefficients are less singular and the more familiar trapping scaling |Ek| ∼ γ 2 is recovered. Typeset using REVTEX 1

Large amplitude dust ion acoustic solitons: considering dust polarity and nonextensive electrons
The characteristics of arbitrary amplitude dust ion acoustic solitary waves (DIASWs) are studied in unmagnetized dusty plasmas whose constituents are cold uid ions, nonextensive electrons and stationary negative/positive dust particles. The pseudopotential approach has been used to investigate the structure of localized waves. It is found that, solitary waves exist in a definite interval for th...

The rouge waves in an optically injected semiconductor lasers are receiving a lot of interest. In this work, the generating and controlling of the rogue waves in semiconductor lasers have been investigated. For this purpose, the laser’s rate equations are solved numerically in a specified time interval, then the field amplitude and the intensity versus time are calculated and analyzed. To solve...
متن کاملNonlinear Electrostatic Ion-Acoustic-Like Instabilities in a System with Two Streaming Ion Components Moving in a Background Plasma
Finite amplitude Alfvén-cyclotron waves are believed to play an important role in coronal heating and nonthermal properties of velocity distribution functions. These effects are thought to be due to parametrically unstable Alfvén-cyclotron waves and electrostatic bursts of ion-acoustic like waves. It is shown here that large amplitude Alfvéncyclotron waves propagating in multi-ion plasmas with ...

The present investigation analysis a problem of reflection and transmission at an interface of two micropolar orthotropic piezothermoelastic media. The basic equations and constitutive relations for micropolar orthotropic piezothermoelastic media for G-L theory are derived. The expressions for amplitude ratios corresponding to reflected and transmitted waves are derived analytically. The eff...
